Obituary: Gregory E. Medwar

A wake for Gregory E. Medwar will be held Sunday for 4-7 p.m at Kfoury Keefe Funeral Home in West Roxbury. The funeral service will be Monday at 11 a.m. at the Church of St. John of Damascus 300 West St. Dedham.

 

Gregory Elias Medwar, 40, of Wrentham, formerly of Sharon, died Oct. 24, 2012, after a short battle with cancer.

He was the son of Elias and Joan Medwar of Sharon.

Gregory was born developmentally disabled, but despite his disabilities, he brought much love, joy and happiness to his family. He made many friends over the years living at the UCP group home in Peabody, Department of Developmental Services group homes in Wellesley and Wrentham and at programs he has attended.

He will be missed by his friends and the staff at both the Barry L. Price Rehabilitation Center in Dedham where he attended dayhab and at his group home in Wrentham.

In addition to his parents, he leaves a brother, Michael Medwar of Franklin; his aunts and uncles, Nora Medwar of Sharon, Paulette Mabardy of Franklin, Carol Valenzano and Janice Mabardy of Norton, Philip and Anita Mabardy of Needham and Paul Mabardy of Sharon; and many cousins.

Visiting hours will be held Sunday, Oct. 28, 2012 from 4-7 p.m. at the Kfoury Keefe Funeral Home. Funeral Service Monday at 11 a.m. at the Church of St. John of Damascus 300 West St. Dedham. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Barry L. Price Rehabilitation Center, 77 Rowe St., Ste 200, Newton, MA 02466.

Gregory will be laid to rest at Fairview Cemetery in Hyde Park.
