Late last week, the Sharon Selectmen announced the 37 individuals will take part in helping plan Sharon’s 250th birthday party.
While the town’s birthday is well over a year away, planning for the bash is expected to start in the near future.
“It’s not happening until 2015 but it’s going to take the better part of a year to do the planning,” Selectman Bill Heitin said.

The individuals that have been approved for the committee will be organized into subcommittees at a later date.
The co-chairs for the committee will be the three selectmen and former Recreation Director David Clifton.

With the members of the committee approved, the funding for the Town of Sharon’s 250th Anniversary Committee’s special fund for events and activities to mark the occasion will be up for a vote at the special town meeting on Nov. 4
