Sharon Resident Petitions Government To Legalize Hemp

Sharon resident Dina Maydman as stared a petition on change.org to legalize the industrial hemp agriculture.

According to the petition website, this proposal would reduce the overall carbon footprint because it breathes in four times more CO2 than trees and can substitute many materials including cotton, paper, and oil.

"The legalization of hemp farming will create a new job sector which will benefit the economy, said the website. "Hemp is a strain of the Cannabis plant that does not produce a 'high' when smoked because it lacks the psychoactive ingredient THC."

Do you agree that industrial hemp agriculture should be legalized? Let us know why or why not in the comments below!
