Sharon Solar Challenge is a partnership between Next Step Living and the Sustainable Sharon Coalition (SSC). The Sustainable Sharon Coalition is a group of citizens working towards a vision of Sharon as a leading sustainable community. SSC works with neighbors, elected officials, and town staff to promote measures that conserve and sustain our community's use of natural & man made resources in order to take part in the global effort to protect our planet. Program Description:NSL has identified approximately 376 residences in Sharon. NSL and SSC have sent a signed letter from Sustainable Sharon Coalition, Co-Vice president Paul Lauenstein, to all 376 residences inviting each homeowner to sign up for a free solar consultation. Additional outreach mechanisms will include door-to-door canvassing, upcoming solar informational sessions and a solar open house:
The goal is to help 15 homes in Sharon sign contracts to install solar panels by March 31, 2014.
