No Tanning Pledge

To decrease
the use of tanning beds, educate students, and promote the message that melanoma
is a preventable, young adult’s cancer; the MFNE has organized a “No-Tanning
Pledge” contest which runs throughout New England High schools during prom
season.  The goal of the contest is for at
least 70% of 11th and 12th students to sign the
“no-tanning before prom pledge” and learn about the dangers of skin
cancer.  Sharon High School has joined
the 2014 “No-Tanning Pledge” contest for the fourth year.  Last year, 49% of juniors and 59% of seniors
vowed to stay away from tanning booths or excessive tanning before prom.  This year we hope to exceed that number and
continue to teach teens on the dangers of indoor tanning. Sign up during lunch
on 2/25 and 4/15.  For further
information visit www.mfne.org
