Legal and Historical View of Jim Crow Laws

Chuck Walker, an entertaining and thoughtful presenter, will engage the audience as our Black History Month speaker. A longtime resident of Sharon, Chuck is a former Chair of the Massachusetts


Commission Against Discrimination. He will speak about the impact of race discrimination on the development of the United States and its public policies, before and after the Civil War and to the present concept of the “New Jim Crow.”


Chuck is an Administrative Law Judge in the Division of Professional Licensure for the Commonwealth; he is an adjunct Professor at New England Law School; and former Executive Director for the Lawyers Committee for Civil Rights Under Law. He has long been active in planning Sharon’s acknowledgement of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. Please join us Friday, February 1st at 7-8:30 p.m., downstairs 4 North Main Street, Sharon.
