Quilting Workshop

Sharon quilter Laura Rosenspan is offering a series of quilting classes at the Sharon Public Library. The classes will be held on 6 Thursday nights, January 10, 17, 24, 31, February 7 and 14 from 7pm to 8:30pm. The class is open to all, ages 10 to 100. The class is limited to 10 participants and registration is required. Laura describes the workshop below:

Here's a taste of quilting in a workshop where you will sew a traditional quilt block, by hand. The pattern is The Grandmother's Flower Garden. From a simple hexagon shape there are many designs you can make. And by using contemporary fabrics and perhaps a new layout, you can sew new life into an old design - or stick to tradition. This is a workshop for all ages, moms and daughters, fathers with sons, sisters and cousins. Work together or independently. It would help if you can bring your own pair of paper scissors and fabric scissors, ruler, and pencil. I will provide pins, needles, thread and fabrics - unless you want to bring your own selection of fabric.

Register online by going to www.sharonpubliclibrary.org; click on Calendar; scroll down to the date of the workshop (January 10) and click on the red register button. Or, you're welcome to call the library, 781-784-1578, and we can register for you. For further information contact Laura Rosenspan at LRQuilts@aol.com.
