Classic Car Exhibit

Classic Car Exhibit

On this Sunday, June 8, for the first time ever, the Sharon Historical Society is hosting a Classic Car Exhibit.  This family friendly, free, fantastic event will start at 1 pm and continue to 4 pm.  Its convenient center of town location is the High Street parking lot (between the Congregational Church and the Historical Society Museum).  So get your engines (or bicycles, or feet) started and come see more than thirty classic cars, a couple of vintage trucks.... and, of course, one fire fighting treasure - Sharon's own 1923 model "Ladder # 1"

Sharon resident Jim Keating has spearheaded planning Sunday's event, so you know you will see a great collection of vintage vehicles - all proudly owned by Sharon residents.   The owners will be present to answer questions.  If you admire well built items of yesteryear that keep their utility and beauty over many decades, this exhibit is for you!  If you bring children,  accustomed to a family van or maybe a lightweight hybrid, they will be amazed at the size and style of vehicles made in the decades from 1920 to 1960.

The weather forecast for Sunday is for a beautiful warm day, so mark your calendar!  Rumor has it a popular local disc jockey will be on hand to spin some Golden Oldies to add to the ambiance.  Both the Historical Society Museum and the Carriage House will be open, so take the opportunity to peek inside at the many interesting Sharon artifacts and museum displays.  You can also pick up a reasonably priced Sharon themed gift shop item.
