Seats on the Board of Selectmen and School Committee will be determined in the annual town election May 20.

Below is a list of open seats and the term lengths:
  • Board of Selectmen: 1 seat for 3 years
  • Board of Selectmen: 1 seat for 1 years
  • School Committee: 2 seats for 3 years
  • Board of Assessors: 1 seat for 3 years
  • Planning Board: 1 seat for 5 years
  • Moderator: 1 seat for 3 years
  • Town Clerk: 1 seat for 3 years
  • Trustees of the Public Library: 1 seat for 3 years
  • Housing Authority: 1 seat for 5 years

Why was the Public Safety facility bond question omitted? Shouldnt residents be told of a pending major jump in their property taxes? I am not for the facility as you might be able to discern due to the fact that our taxes are already far too high. Get a commercial enterprise to actually move into town (see Sharon Commons) and then do it, but while we are still unattractive to business I simply can not vote for something that I cant afford. And note that the question has an open ended dollar amount.
