Sharon Ready to Celebrate Fourth of July

Time to celebration the Fourth of July Sharon-style.
The annual Sharon Independence Day Celebration will be take place at the Lake Massapoag.

4 p.m.-
-Bicycle and Doll Carriage Parade. (Participants are asked to line up Beech Tree Park at 3:45 p.m.)

4:30-9:30 p.m.
.-The lakeside celebration will take place, featuring entertainment, carnival games, train rain, slot car racing from "The Roaming Railroad," a Sharon Independence Day tradition, hands-on-animal exhibits from Sunnyrock 4-H Club, live music from Sharon's own "Dred Sox." You will also be able to have dinner at the First Food Truck Fair, featuring some of the best of Boston's food trucks, including The Cubby Chickpea, The Dining Car, Boston's Baddest Burgers, Captain Marden's Seafood. There will also be face painting and craft activities at picnic tables on the grass outside of the bandstand, organized by Sharon Recreation Department. 

5 p.m.-
There will be a performance by Benjamin the Juggling Clown at the bandstand, followed by an hour of balloon animals and on-the-spot magic and clown tricks on the grass outside of the bandstand. This is sponsored by Little Sprout Academy. 

8 p.m.-There will be a pie eating contest with a $50 first place prize on the line. You must sign up with a Sharon Independence Day committee member and you must be 18-years or older to participate. 

9:30 p.m.-The fireworks will take place over Lake Massapoag. 

So what's the weather going to be? Today, there's going to be a mix of sun and clouds with some isolated thunderstorms, mainly north and west of 195, according to WHDH. On the Fourth of July, it will be a hot and humid afternoon with temps near 90. If you have Friday off, we'll have a hazy sunshine, near 90s with a lots of humidity.
