RECAP: Hurricane Sandy Slams Into Sharon

It was anything but dull in the area on Monday, as Hurricane Sandy made landfall and caused a headache for residents througout the Commonwealth, including those in Sharon, with several hundred reported to be without power through much of the day (1,301 were still without power in town as of 9:12 p.m. Monday).

Residents weighed in throughout the day Monday with reports of power outages in their neighborhoods. Meanwhile, Sen. Scott Brown bowed out of the final senate debate due to the storm.

MBTA service was shut down as of 2 p.m. Monday. Regularly scheduled commuter rail service will resume on all lines for the start of service Tuesday, with the exception of the Providence Line where Amtrak continues to address overhead wire problems. Providence/Stoughton line customers should check MBTA.com and T-Alerts for updated service information.
