TI of Sharon To Host ‘Back To Shul’ Open House

Inaugural event designed to engage community

Temple Israel of Sharon (located at 125 Pond Street) is pleased to invite the community to come ‘Back to Shul’ on Sunday, September 15, 2013 from 4-6pm.  There will be activities and information for all ages, and opportunities to meet the synagogue’s clergy, dynamic teachers and other congregational leaders.  Participants also can learn more about the numerous committees connected with the temple.  These committees promote a deeper engagement on a range of interests from youth involvement to education and social action.  Additionally, there will be arts and crafts projects for children to decorate the Temple’s sukkah.  A free Mac ‘n’ Cheese dinner will be provided.

The Temple’s Social Action Committee is using this event to kick-off its Fall campaign for Family Table, the largest kosher food pantry in New England. The committee asks that all attendees bring cans of tuna and boxes of pasta to support this important endeavor.

The congregation is also preparing for the debut of Temple Israel’s new free offering for families with young children, Little Minyans.  Beginning on September 22, 2013 at 10:30am, this new program designed for kids aged five and under, will begin with a lulav shake to celebrate the festival of Sukkot.
