Sharon's Unemployment Rate Remains Area's Lowest

Like many other towns in Massachusetts, Sharon has seen an increase in unemployment in the past year.

Accord to the Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development, Sharon had an unemployment rate of 5.1 percent in November, 2013, an increase from 4.5 percent in November 2012 but a decrease from 5.5 percent in October, 2013.

The rate is lower than all of the adjacent towns. Walpole, Easton, Canton, and Norwood all have the next lowest unemployment rate at 5.5 percent while Stoughton has the highest with 6.3 percent.

  • Mansfield - 5.8%
  • Foxborough - 5.9%
  • Stoughton - 6.3%
