Sharon's Crescent Ridge to Treat Kids to 80-Cent Kiddie Cones

Tuesday's event will help celebrate the Parrish family's 80 years of owning the Bay Road landmark.

The Parrish family will celebrate 80 years of owning the by giving kids a treat on cones.

Tuesday is 80-cent kiddie cone day at the Bay Road landmark.

"It's a way for us to celebrate that with our customers by having an oldy-timey price, to sort of say 'Thank you' to everyone and to celebrate those 80 years," Mark Parrish said today.

Crescent Ridge will double its staff Tuesday for the celebration, which originated as the family was "trying to think what we could do for National Ice Cream Day," on July 15, he said.

"Last year, we did a $2 sundae. And we learned from that that we really needed to beef up our staff," he said.

Crescent Ridge also will hold two free "mooovie" nights this summer: at 9 p.m. Friday, when "Charlotte's Web" will be shown; and on Aug. 15, Parrish said.

Lemonade and popcorn will be free, according to Crescent Ridge's Facebook page.

Crescent Ridge held its first movie night last year, Parrish noted.

"It's just another chance to invite people to come to celebrate (the 80th anniversary," he said.
