Sharon Selectmen Extend Mick Morgan's Liquor License to 1 A.M.

Patio off function room approved as well.

Overtime won't happen after closing time at Sharon's anymore.

Tuesday night, Sharon selectmen extended the Route 1 eatery's liquor license by one hour, until 1 a.m.

The change will allow Mick Morgan's "to be comparable and to be more competitive" with neighboring establishments, restaurant business partner Finbar Griffin told the board.

Last weekend, "we were pretty much empty for the NBA Finals, because people were going to locations on Route 1," Griffin said.

Mick Morgan's is considering offering "a smaller food menu" to such customers, he said.

Selectmen also approved a patio off the restaurant's 30- to 35-seat function room.

Overflow crowds during functions will use the space, Griffin said.

The tables and chairs there would be removed after the summer, he said.

"It's not for people to sit out there until midnight," Griffin said.

"We're not looking for an increase in our capacity."
