Family Opera to Benefit Sharon Arts and Education

The Sharon High School Theatre Company, in conjunction with the D'VAA Vocal Arts Academy, will present "The Little Prince," A Family Opera, from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, April 26 and Friday, April 27 at Sharon High School.

Opening night will be attended and followed by an informal  "meet and greet" with two world renowned opera personalities: Michael Capasso, founder and general director of the NYC DiCapo Opera Theater, and Stefano Vignati, artistic director of the Tuscia Opera Festival in Italy and the Italian American Opera Foundation in Los Angeles.

The remaining tickets will be sold first come, first served, at the door starting at 5 p.m.

The proceeds will benefit the Sharon High School Theatre Company, Friends of Arts & Music Education, Sharon Education Foundation and the Sharon Performing Artists Association.

The show is being performed by arrangement with G. Schirmer Inc., the publisher and copyright owner.

Based on the book by Antoine de Saint-Exupery, the program will feature a liberetto by Nicholas Wright, and music by Rachel Portman.

The music and artistic director is soprano Andrea DeGiudice. The director and choreographer is Kayla Armstrong, a Sharon High School Theatre Company director.
