Sharon to Host Vigil for Families Affected by Newtown Shooting

The event will run from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 20, and will mark the beginning of a month-long vigil against violence.

The Unitarian Church of Sharon will be holding a vigil Thursday night to honor families affected by .

The vigil is also aimed to "commit ourselves to ending violence in America," according to the chuch's website

All are welcome to attend the vigil anytime between 4 and 8 p.m., and stay as long as they wish.

The vigil will feature presentations by Sharon religious leaders, a quiet meditation, and a chance for residents to share their thoughts and feelings with one another. Additioanl parking will be made available at the First Congregation Church on North Main Street.

The gathering on Thursday will mark the beginning of a month-long vigil against violence that will culminate on Monday, Jan. 21, also Martin Luther King, Jr. day.
