Sharon Remembers Those Lost on 9/11

Yesterday, Sharon took a moment to pause and remember those who lost their lives 12 years ago in the 9/11 tragedy near town hall and the Michael C. Rothberg Memorial Clock.

During the attacks, Sharon lost one resident. Rothberg, a Sharon native, was on the 104th floor of the World Trade Center on Sept. 11, 2001.

The day started with a reading of the name of every person lost in the attack on Sharon Radio 1630 AM and was followed by a short ceremony. Fire Chief James Wright reflected on the emotion involved with the anniversary.

"We were standing at the radio when Michael's name was read, I got a tear in my eye. It's just something that's so hard to relive every year," Wright said.

With the Boston Marathon Bombing still fresh in many minds, Chief Wright also took a moment to remember those who lost their lives in the April tragedy.
