5 Things, Sept. 18: Washington Trip Information, SHS Staff to Meet

The first Cannes Film Festival took place this day in history.

1. On this day in history 1946, the first Cannes Film Festival was held, having been delayed seven years because of World War II.

2. ESOL Conversation Group will meet from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. today at the Sharon Public Library in the Cynthia B. Fox Community Room.

3. The Sharon High School Faculty and Staff will meet from 3-4 p.m. at the Sharon Public Library.

4. Sharon Middle School students are preparing for their trip to Washington. Parents are encouraged to come to the Grade 8 parent meeting regarding the school trip tonight from 7-8 p.m. 

5. How about taking a walk around Lower Leech Pond in Borderland State Park? It's a three-mile easy walk that takes you by the stone lodge, farmhouse, 1911 mansion and picnic grounds. There are many trails to explore. Visit the website for more information or email mass.parks@state.ma.us.
