Sharon Teen Wins Third Place in National Yoga Championship

Lindsay Resca, 11, daughter of Kristin and Peter Resca of Sharon, MA won third place in the USA National Yoga Championship in San Antonio, Texas on March 16, 2014. Lindsay will be an alternate to go to London to compete in the International Yoga Championship this May. Lindsay practices at Bikram Yoga Stoughton, 1629 Central Street Stoughton, MA where her mom, Kristin, teaches YogaKids to the children of our community. Lindsay was coached by Jayme McDonagh, Owner and Amanda Page, Co-Founder.  Bikram Yoga Stoughton has been helping people of our local community heal and change their lives since 2001. Yoga Championships are a tradition in India and in 2003 USA Yoga began holding them in the United States. Most people question whether yoga should be a competitive sport. But the purpose is not to boost the ego of a few but instead to inspire people everywhere to practice yoga to heal mind body and spirit, to connect with one's greatest self and to live long and healthy lives. The ultimate mission of USA yoga is to make yoga an Olympic sport so that children all over the world will practice yoga.  For more information check out USAYoga.org and www.bikramyogastoughton.com
