How much solar power can Sharon homeowners produce?
As global temperatures and energy costs rise, a group of homeowners is forming a network to encourage installation of solar panels on Sharon rooftops, monitor their power output, share information, and serve as references for others in the community who would like to capture the clean energy beating down on their roofs every day. The Sharon Solar Network will track the quarterly power output of solar panels on Sharon homes as a growing number of residents reap the benefits of clean, renewable and inexpensive solar power. Solar power enthusiast Lexie Raczka noted, “Many individuals in the community have already made lifestyle changes to reduce their carbon footprints. This group will encourage continuing improvement by making information about solar power more accessible.”

The Sharon Solar Network is seeking to engage homeowners who either own or lease photovoltaic panels, and are willing to share information on the amount of energy they generate every quarter. In addition, homeowners in the network will be asked to serve as references and provide information on their experiences with solar power for others in the community who are considering solar power for their homes. In return, they will receive a quarterly report on the total amount of solar energy generated by the group, and the satisfaction of helping others follow in their footsteps. Raczka also commented, “This group has the potential to become a template for groups in other communities, and accelerate positive change for the environment.”
Participation is free, and could lead to opportunities for referral commissions. If you would like to join the Sharon Solar Network, or learn more about it, please contact Paul Lauenstein at 781-784-2986, or lauenstein@comcast.net.
