Sharon Fall Baseball Registration is Now Open

We are pleased to announce that registrations for Fall Baseball 2014 are now open.  We are happy to announce that we intend to offer a program for 3rd Graders of the 2014/ 2015 School Year .  This is dependent on ample participation from other towns for us to be able to successfully form this new division.  If in the event we do not have other towns sign up, we would provide sufficient notice and refund your registration fee.

This year SYBSA will not be offering the Developmental Program (AKA Gold Program) for 4th,5th, 6th or 7th grades.

We will continue to offer a division where 4th and 5th Graders play together and a division where 6th and 7th Graders play together.  SYBSA will field as many teams as possible and logical in each of these divisions based on registrations.  Our primary goal is to place every registered player on a roster who wishes to play.  However, the number of teams we field and roster size will be dictated by how many players register.  We want to set expectations that based on registration numbers it is possible we may not be able to accommodate every player.    As a hypothetical example,  if we have 49 players register within one of the divisions, we would need to make logical roster sizes to fit 3 teams.  We need to avoid rosters with 16 or 17 players as this would be detrimental to the experience for all involved.   Hopefully we have nice even registration #s where we end up with reasonable roster sizes and everyone that would like to play is assigned.  As another hypothetical example;  39 players register in a division and we then have 3 teams of 13.

SYBSA has also committed that if there is more than 1 team in a division, we will balance the rosters so each team is evenly matched.  Teams and rosters sizes will be made by the SYBSA Travel Committee and the designated Head Coaches of our teams.  If in the event we have to limit the players assigned based on registration #s (and not being able to have reasonable roster sizes),  priority will be given to player ability.  We are being very transparent in an effort to set proper expectations up front.  Please consider this situation as you register your player.  We also ask that you set your own proper expectations with your player as well.

The Fall Ball Season will start 1 week later than usual due to when summer camps end and where Labor Day falls.  The season will start on Saturday September 6th.  We will then have games on 9/13, 9/20, 9/27 skip 10/4 (Yom Kippur) and resume on 10/11 & 10/18.  Saturday October 25th will be reserved for a make-up day only.  We will not play past 10/25.
