MY ECO Kristen Brown Shows Shoppers How Reusing Bags Can Earn Money for Schools

MY ECO President Kristen Brown will be at the Shaw's on South Main Street tomorrow, showing Sharon shoppers that breaking their plastic bag habit can benefit schools as well as the environment. With the new MY ECO App, families can earn rewards every time they reuse shopping bags, and those rewards will be automatically donated to their local school.

“MY ECO educates communities like Sharon on reuse, so people make lifestyle choices with long-term goals in mind,” says MY ECO Founder Kristen Brown. “The most effective way to follow through that the right choices are being made is by rewarding positive behavior, and putting those rewards back into the community.”

To join the program, Sharon shoppers simply download the free MY ECO app to their smartphone and register, which includes selecting the school to benefit from their reuse. Then shoppers take reusable bags every time they shop at Shaw's, scan the unique MY ECO QR code at check out, and the MY ECO app does the rest. Shoppers can track how many disposable bags have been kept out of landfills, and how much money they are earning for their school.
