Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts Honors Sharon Resident Denise Kaigler as a Leading Woman

Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts' 22nd annual Leading Women Awards Breakfast will take place on Thursday, November 7 at the Sheraton Hotel in Boston. Among five remarkable role models, Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts will honor Denise Kaigler, Senior Vice President of Corporate Affairs & Communications at Boston Scientific Corporation.

Kaigler is responsible for the company’s internal and external communications, strategic communications, media and public relations, corporate branding and advertising, corporate events, executive communications and corporate citizenship, which includes community relations and The Boston Scientific Foundation.

Kaigler has more than 20 years experience in corporate communications, global public relations, marketing and corporate branding. She led the Corporate Affairs group at Nintendo of America, where she was responsible for corporate communications, public relations, entertainment marketing and trend (social media)marketing.

Prior to Nintendo, Kaigler spent 17 years at Reebok International, beginning in media and public relations and eventually being promoted to Senior Vice President and Chief Communications Officer for Reebok, and then Head of Corporate Communications U.S., for the Adidas Group following its acquisition of Reebok. 

She is very active in supporting nonprofit organizations and fundraising activities that help the underserved, especially youth.  She previously served as Co-chair of the Board of Overseers of Emerson College and also has been involved with, often in a fundraising capacity, the following organizations: Children’s Services of Roxbury, Bottom Line, Sportsmen’s Tennis Club, United Way, the Big Sister Association of Greater Boston, and Dimock Health Center. Kaigler holds a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism from Emerson College in Boston. She is married and has a son and daughter.

“Each year Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts honors remarkable leaders who have made a positive impact through their career and in the community,” explained Ruth N. Bramson, Chief Executive Officer, Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts.  “The Leading Women Awards is a way for our girls to meet great role models like Denise and for our supporters to learn how Girl Scouts is creating future women leaders.”

The Leading Women Awards brings hundreds of women and other members of the greater Boston business community together to celebrate leadership, honor our awardees and support the Girl Scout mission. Girl Scouts inspires, challenges and empowers girls to discover their values and passions. Innovation and creativity are at the very core of the Girl Scout experience.

The prestigious list of honorees includes Helen G. Drinan, President, Simmons College; Sheila Lirio Marcelo, Founder & CEO, Care.com; Joyce Maroney, Senior Director, Customer Experience & Services Marketing Kronos, Inc.; and Leading Man, the Honorable Thomas M. Menino, Mayor of Boston.
