Did You Know -- Not All High School Seniors From Sharon Attend Sharon High School!

Hannah Cohen of Norfolk Aggie is also up for Hood Scholarship award.

Last week’s Sharon Patch introduced four SHS senior athletes vying for your votes for the 2014 Hood Scholarship. Another Sharon resident, Hannah Cohen, is also in the running for this coveted award. Hannah is a 4-year Varsity athlete at Norfolk County Agricultural High School, and she, too, seeks community support in this competition.

The Hood Sportsmanship Scholarship Program recognizes and rewards student athletes who have demonstrated high integrity and good sportsmanship, assisting with their continuing education by granting $5,000 awards to 18 students – three from each of the six New England states.

Hannah has played basketball for Sharon’s Recreation Team, Sharon’s Travel Team, and AAU since 4th grade and she’s played Varsity ball all four years at Norfolk Aggie. In addition to showing good sportsmanship on the court, Hannah has been a peer mentor at school and has been involved in community service activities such as serving at the MainSpring House, and participating in Meals on Wheels, JF&CS Family Table, and founding the “Bears Onboard” program in Sharon, Canton, Mansfield, Stoughton and Foxboro, providing paramedics with new teddy bears for kids needing ambulance rides.

As with the other students from Sharon, Hannah is also deserving of your consideration in this contest. You may vote DAILY for the winner now through April 18 at 3 p.m. by visiting the Hood Scholarship website. Good Luck to all of the Sharon student athletes competing for this award!
