Come meet the 2014 Grant Recipients of the Sharon Cultural Council!

The Sharon Cultural Council (SCC) will honor the 16 local organizations to which it made grants for 2014.  Sharon residents are invited to come and meet representatives of these organizations in a reception to be held Wednesday June 11 at the Sharon Public Library from 6-8pm. Light (Kosher) refreshments will be served, and brief remarks will be made at 7pm.  Attendees should RSVP to Paige Davis at fishtankmedia@gmail.com.

“Every year we support a wide variety of arts and educational programming to benefit the residents of the town of Sharon,” said Gloria Rose, chair of the SCC.  “This year's grant recipients are an example of the wonderful types of contributions that are made to our local cultural scene and are representative of what our fellow citizens are capable of contributing.”

The SCC is a part of the Massachusetts Cultural Council's Local Cultural Council (LCC) Program. As stated on the MCC website, it is the largest grassroots cultural funding network in the nation supporting thousands of community-based projects in the arts, humanities, and sciences annually. Each year, local councils award more than $2 million in grants to more than 5,000 cultural programs statewide. The program promotes the availability of rich cultural experiences for every Massachusetts citizen.
