The Mob in Sharon
Come enjoy an illustrated talk tonight at 7 p.m. at Unitarian Church of Sharon on "The Boston Mob - Hitmen, Hoodlums, and Hideouts" given by Stephanie Schorow.  Stephanie is an expert on the subject, a veteran crime journalist and author,  and a popular and entertaining speaker.   She has just returned from a trip to the famous "Mob Museum" in Las Vegas, Nevada, where she enthralled the audience there with her presentation.

Did you know Sharon has some close connections to the Boston Mob?   "Cadillac Frank" Salemme, a self admitted murderer and mobster, once lived on Marie Avenue in Sharon.   His son Frank Jr., another one time Sharon resident, was accused of the 1993 strangling death of nightclub owner Steve DiSarro, although he died before this could ever be fully investigated.   Another one time Sharonite, Edward George Connors, was one of Whitey Bulger's murder victims.

And is it possible, years ago, that some of the Boston mobsters practiced their shooting skills in some of Sharon's deep woods?

If you are an old timer with a memory to share,  or an young enthusiast who wants to learn more, or anyone in between, come to this fascinating presentation this Thursday night.  You won't be sorry!   Please note parking is very limited at the church, and should be saved for those who are physically challenged.   If you are able bodied, please park on the streets or in another lot in the town center area, and walk to the Unitarian Church.

This presentation is sponsored by the Sharon Historical Society.  Admission is free - although  donations of any amount to help pay the speaker and to further the mission of the Society will be gratefully accepted after the presentation.  The Sharon Historical Society is a non-profit volunteer organization which receives no funding from the town of Sharon.  Please consider joining the Society if you are not a member already - only $19 per year to support the upkeep of the Museum (located at 16 High St.), the educational programs it provides to school children and adults, and programs such as this Boston Mob talk.
