The Board of Trustees of the Sharon Public Library is pleased to announce the arrival of our new director Lee Ann Amend. Lee Ann was formerly the director of the Osterville Village Library and has almost twenty years of experience working in libraries around Massachusetts. Lee Ann is eager to meet the community so please stop by the library and help make her feel welcome. We are sure she will be a wonderful addition to the library family
Sharon Public Schools Conducting Child Find
In accordance with Federal and State regulations, the Sharon Public Schools provides special education programs designed to meet the needs of children attending not only public schools but also those attending private school at private expense and whose parents reside in Sharon.
Sharon provides all children with an opportunity to participate in the public school programs using a continuous and systematic effort to identify children in need of special education services.
The Sharon schools will arrange for screening and evaluation of those students ages 16 through 21 who have not graduated from high school and who are not now attending school or children ages 3 through 21 who are unable to progress effectively in a regular education program due to a suspected disability consisting of a developmental delay or intellectual, sensory, neurological, emotional, autism, communication, physical, specific learning or health impairment or combination thereof.

Fire Department Open House
October is National Fire Prevention Month, and Papa Gino’s
is teaming up with Sharon Fire Department to help educate the community
on fire safety and prevention. For the past 18 years, New England Fire Departments and Papa Gino’s have helped more than 2 million people by supplying educational materials and free pizza at fire safety open houses.
The Sharon Fire Department is holding a Fire Safety Open House at Sharon Fire Department, 92 S. Main Street on Wednesday, Oct. 9 from 3 pm - 5 pm. Stop by to get some fire safety tips and a free slice of Papa Gino’s pizza.
