Selectmen to Get Update From Town Administrator Screening Committee Tonight

Selectmen Meeting Tonight

The Sharon Board of Selectmen will meet tonight at 7 p.m. at Town Hall. Agenda items include an update on the town administrator screening committee.

Confronting Solitary Confinement in Prisons 

The use of solitary confinement in our prisons is increasingly coming under scrutiny and criticism.

On December 10, Human Rights Day, Temple Kol Tikvah in Sharon will be hosting a reading/performance at 7:30pm, which will feature stories of survivors of solitary confinement and their loved ones. This resource, distributed by The National Religious Campaign Against Torture, powerfully weaves together excerpts of letters, blog entries, government reports, and speeches of family members and survivors, all organized into a one-hour readers’ theater format.

Adults and teens are invited to participate, either as readers or as audience members. We hope that this new resource and the powerful stories it includes will amplify the voices calling for an end to torture in our prisons.

Temple Kol Tikvah is located at 9 Dunbar Street in Sharon, and is handicap accessible.
