MBTA 2013 New Year's Eve Schedule, No Fares After 8 p.m.

In anticipation of Boston's annual First Night events coming this evening, the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority has released its schedule for New Year's Eve and New Year's Day

MBTA riders should note that there will be no fares after 8 p.m. on New Year's Eve.

Below is the planned schedule for subway, commuter rail, bus, ferry and The RIDE service, according to www.mbta.com/events.

New Year's Eve: Tuesday, Dec. 31

  • The Red Line will operate a modified weekday schedule with additional trains operating at rush hour levels of service throughout the evening from 3 p.m. until about 2 a.m. 
  • The Orange Line will operate a modified weekday schedule with additional trains operating at rush hour levels of service throughout the evening from 3 p.m. until about 2 a.m. 
  • The Blue Line will operate a modified weekday schedule with additional trains operating at rush hour levels of service throughout the evening from 3 p.m. until about 2 a.m. 
  • The Green B, C, D, and E lines will operate a modified weekday schedule with additional trains operating at rush-hour levels of services throughout the evening from 3 p.m. until about 2 a.m. 
  • The Silver Line will operate a regular weekday schedule

Busses 

Buses, trackless trolleys (Route No. 71), and express bus routes will operate a regular weekday schedule.

New Year's Day: Wednesday, Jan. 1
