The tree planting is taking place along the boardwalk between Beech Tree Park and the boat launch parking lot. This is an area where a number of dead trees have been removed over the last few years. In addition, there has been a concerted effort to remove invasive plants from the area as well. The new trees, red maples and river birch will aid in absorbing excess water during heavy rain events and add native plants back to the area.
With regards to the invasive species removal, we are attempting to create an “adopt a tree” initiative where people can monitor a tree during the growing months to ensure that no invasive are growing on our around it. People can choose to adopt anywhere from 1-5 trees (or more if they so desire). The removal day event will give you hands-on experience. Please bring durable gloves and clippers if you have them, and it is suggested that you wear long sleeves and pants to prevent being exposed to poison ivy.

The Sharon Community Chamber Orchestra's spring concert is a celebration of spring and extraordinarily talented&nbsp;young musicians.&nbsp;
The program includes Overture in D Minor by Emilie Mayer, Overture on Hebrew Themes by Prokofiev, and Beethoven's Triple Concerto.&nbsp;
The orchestra performs under Music Director, Michael Korn.&nbsp;&nbsp;<a href="https://www.michaelkornviolinist.com/index.html" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">http://www.michaelkornviolinis...</a>&nbsp;Our soloists for the Beethoven&nbsp;Triple Concerto are&nbsp;Andrew Ho, piano,&nbsp;Ayaan Ahmad, violin, and Lazar Kaminsky, cello.&nbsp;
Andrew Ho has been playing the piano for eleven years. During his time at the piano, he has studied a wide range of repertoire and genres, including the entire Book II of the Well-Tempered Clavier. Notable other examples include: Liszt’s Harmonies du Soir, Barber’s Ballade Op. 46, and Prokofiev’s Concerto in C Major Op. 26: Andante — Allegro.&nbsp;He has won numerous awards for both music theory and solo piano 
Ayaan Ahmad is a 17-year-old Bangladeshi-American violinist from Sharon, Massachusetts. Ayaan was accepted into and attended the Perlman Music Program for two summers, performing and working with world-renowned violinist Itzhak Perlman and other esteemed faculty.
 Lazar Kaminsky is an 18-year-old cellist based in the Boston area. His most notable accomplishments include winning the Academia Internacional de Música de Solsona (AIMS) Festival Concerto as well as first and special prize in the International New York Solo Competition.

Brockton, MA (April 19, 2024) – Art enthusiasts and community supporters are invited to Spring Into Auction!, a collaborative fundraising event hosted by the Fuller Craft Museum and Temple Chayai Shalom (TCS). This exciting evening celebrates art, community, and giving back, taking place on Saturday, May 11th, 2024, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Fuller Craft Museum (455 Oak Street, Brockton, MA). This is a great opportunity to celebrate Mother’s Day weekend while supporting the local community.

Help reduce e-waste and learn about sustainable practices. 

St. Timothy Church&nbsp;Is hosting an Electronics Recycling Event from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday June 15. The collection event will be held in the church parking lot at 650 Nichols&nbsp;Street.
All electronics, appliances, items with a plug and/or batteries, as well as bicycles in any condition will be accepted and recycled for a small cost as follows:

When you arrive, please follow the cones and directions from the workers. Bring your vehicle as close to the truck or dumpster as possible. Feel free to remain in your vehicle, our workers will unload your items for you. 
Residents from all towns and communities are welcome to recycle. The event will be rain or shine. Computer hard drives will be destroyed during the recycling process, but can be removed on-site at the event for an additional charge. Cash payment is preferred, but checks will be an acceptable form of payments over $30.
