DESCRIPTION:Borderland State Park will offer the following events over th
 e last two  weeks in June:\n\nArchitecture Tour: A Story in Stone: Monda
 y\, June 18 from 3:30 to 4  p.m. Participants will explore the exterior 
 of the Ames Mansion and  learn about its construction on this 30-minute 
 outdoor tour. The program  is for adults and older children. All childre
 n must be accompanied by  an adult. Reasonable accommodations are availa
 ble upon advance request.  There is a $2 per car parking fee. Participan
 ts will meet in front of  mansion. Rain cancels the event.\n\n\nFishing 
 with Ranger Buck: Participants will join Ranger Buck on  Monday\, June 1
 8 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Puds Pond. Children and adults of  all skill level
 s are welcome to cast a line and fish using their own  fishing pole or o
 ne belonging to Borderland. Worms will be provided.  Children must be ac
 companied by an adult. Reasonable accommodations are  available upon req
 uest. There is a $2 per  car parking fee. Participants  will meet at Pud
 s Pond. Rain cancels the event.\n\n\nPond Walk: Monday\, June 18\, from 
 5 to 6 p.m. Participants will join  the park interpreter for an hour str
 oll along the designated Healthy  Heart Trail\, which goes around Lower 
 Leach Pond. The Healthy Heart Trail  is an initiative to connect people 
 with nature while enjoying the  health benefits of walking. A downpour c
 ancels the event.\n\n\nOff The Beaten Path Hike: Thursday\, June 21 from
  1 to 2:30 p.m.  Participants will explore the trails less traveled on t
 his 3- to 4-mile  informative and recreational hike. The route and theme
  varies weekly.  Participants should dress for the weather\, bring water
 \, and wear bug  repellent. The hike is easy to moderate in difficulty. 
 The program is  for adults and older children. All children must be acco
 mpanied by an  adult. Reasonable accommodations are available upon reque
 st. There is a  $2 per  car parking fee. Participants will meet at the V
 isitor Center. A  downpour cancels the event.\n\n\nFriends of Borderland
 : Mansion Tour: On Sunday\, June 24 from 1 to 3  p.m.\, participants wil
 l discover the history of the Ames Mansion while  supporting Friends of 
 Borderland State Park. Volunteer guides will  conduct tours of the state
 ly home of Oakes and Blanche Ames. Tours will  run about every 20 minute
 s. The program is for all ages. Donations are  accepted and will benefit
  the Friends of Borderland. Participants will  meet in front of mansion.
  The event is sponsored by the Friends of  Borderland\, rain or shine.\n
 \n\nGarden Tour: Restoration in Progress: Monday\, June 25 from 3:30 to 
 4  p.m. Participants will join the park interpreter for a half-hour  out
 door tour of the Ames Mansion gardens. The program is for adults and  ol
 der children. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Reasonable  
 accommodations are available upon request. There is a $2 per  car  parki
 ng fee. Participants will meet in front of mansion. Rain cancels  the ev
 ent.\n\n\nFishing with Ranger Buck: Participants will join Ranger Buck o
 n  Monday\, June 25 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Puds Pond. Children and adults o

  from 9 a.m. to noon. Participants  will hike to the hardly visited nort
 hern-most point of Borderland State  Park on this 5- to 6-mile\, moderat
 ely paced recreational hike.  Participants will hike to Morse Loop and e
 njoy a snack on the shores of  the Dead Swamp Pond. Participants should 
 wear sturdy shoes and bring  plenty of water and bug repellent\, as well
  as a snack to eat at the  pond. The program is for adults and older chi
 ldren. All children must  be&nbsp\; accompanied by an adult. Reasonable 
 accommodations are available  upon request. There is a $2 per  car parki
 ng fee. Participants will meet  at the Visitor Center. Rain cancels the 
 event.\n\n\nMansion Tour: Building a Home: On Friday\, June 29 from 2 to
  2:30  p.m.\, participants will learn about the history of the building 
 of the  Ames Mansion on this 30-minute guided tour of the home. Particip
 ants  will see the first floor only. The program is for adults and older
   children. Reasonable accommodations are available upon request. There 
 is  a $2 per  car parking fee. Participants will meet in front of the  m
 ansion\, rain or shine.\n\n\nMansion Tour: The Ameses and Women's Rights
 : On Saturday\, June 30  from 3:30 to 4 p.m.\, participants will explore
  Oakes and Blanche Ames'  involvement in the struggle for women's rights
  on this 30-minute guided  tour of the first floor of the Ames Mansion. 
 Participants will view some  of her suffrage artwork and political carto
 ons. Participants will see  the first floor only. Reasonable accommodati
 ons are available upon  request. There is a $2 per  car parking fee. The
  program is for adults  and older children. Participants will weet in fr
 ont of the mansion\, rain  or shine.\n
