Two-Alarm Fire at Canton Home The cause of a two-alarm fire that ignited at a home on Chapman Street in Canton Tuesday night was the result of an accidental electrical issue, Canton Fire Chief Charles E. Doody said Wednesday. The fire broke out around 9 p.m. Tuesday, August 28, and caused fire damage to a basement electrical room. The two occupants who own the home were displaced as a result of the fire, though there were no injuries, Doody said. Mansfield Holiday Inn Evacuated Due to Gas Line Readings Error Mansfield’s Holiday Inn was evacuated Thursday out of precaution when a technician working on site at the gas mains thought one of the valves reading dangerous levels, Mansfield Fire stated. For David Schuler his is Town Spa in Stoughton, about 1,400 miles away from his Madison, Mississippi home. Updated: Norton Officer Saves Girl from Car Fire A Norton police officer managed to pull a teenage girl from a fiery wreckage early Thursday morning just before it was fully engulfed in flames.Norton Police and Fire Departments responded to the area of 2 Burt St. for a report of a motor vehicle crash. Norton Man Cited for Leaving Scene of Route 24 Fatal Massachusetts State Police have issued a citation to the man who was allegedly operating the vehicle that struck and killed a pedestrian on Route 24 northbound in Randolph early Sunday morning, July 29 (around 1:15 a.m.). Two Dead After Thursday's Identity Festival at Mansfield's Comcast Center Mansfield Police confirmed two men died on Thursday while at the Identity Festival at the Comcast Center. The two, 19-year-old Connor Brandon of Acton and 27-year-old Dominic Impelizzieri of 266 Roxford Road North, Syracuse, N.Y., reportedly died after taking drugs at the concert. Man Shot at Technology Center Drive Apartment Complex in Stoughton A man was transported to Boston Medical Center the afternoon of July 16 with a gunshot wound in the lower back, suffered at the Lodge at Stoughton on Technology Center Drive. UPDATE: Route 24 Rollover Victims from Norton The three victims in Thursday's single car rollover crash on Route 24 northbound on the Stoughton/Avon line are from Norton, according to Trooper Todd Nolan, a spokesperson for the Massachusetts State Police. 12-year-old Angel Pina was pronounced deceased at the scene of the crash, which took place shortly before 5 p.m. on July 12. ... Illegal Immigrant Charged in Crash That Killed Stoughton Woman Auricelli Braga, 32, of Stoughton, was charged with motor-vehicle homicide, negligent operation of a motor vehicle and driving without a license following a two-car crash in Canton on June 24 which killed a Stoughton grandmother. Braga, from Brazil, is not a legal resident, according to the Boston Herald. She has been in this country illegally since 2002, the paper reports. Teens Allegedly Held at Knifepoint at Stoughton's Skate Park Stoughton Police responded to the Stoughton skate park, located behind the stands of the Stoughton High football field and across from the O'Donnell Middle School, at 5:04 p.m. on April 13 for a report of stolen bikes. Fatal Easton Crash Kills Norton Man A Foundry Street accident in Easton resulted in the death of a Norton man Tuesday night, April 10, according to Easton Police. Easton Police Chief Allen Krajcik said in a statement that Eric Gryzboski, 36, of Eisenhower Drive in Norton, went off the road while heading westbound at approximately 10:45 p.m. and crashed his 2002 GMC pickup truck into a large tree near the Norton town line. Thousands Lose Power in Stoughton Almost 11,000 National Grid customers in Stoughton (90 percent of customers) lost power last Saturday afternoon, March 31, as a result of a breaker that opened at a National Grid substation on Sumner St. in Stoughton, according a spokesperson for National Grid. Fire Damages Stoughton Home A Stoughton home on Winfisky Dr. is deemed a “total loss” by Stoughton Fire Chief Mark Dolloff after a heavy fire damaged the structure Saturday afternoon, March 24. The fire started at 2:01 p.m. at 49 Winfisky Dr., located in a neighborhood off Bay Rd in Stoughton. Stoughton, along with four other nearby towns responded to the scene. Proposed Foxboro Casino Concerns Sharon Resident Matthew Baldassari sees a casino on Route 1 in Foxboro as drawing bad things to Sharon, where he has resided since the mid-1980s. "You're going to see traffic and you're going to see crime go up" in Sharon, Baldassari said Monday. Judge Allows Release of Key Materials in DJ Henry Shooting Case A federal judge ruled on March 8 that police material from the night of—and investigation that followed—Easton native Danroy “DJ” Henry’s death in Thornwood, NY will be publicly released as the case’s federal investigation continues.
