I get why the Fire Department wants/needs more space. As a Town we just cant afford a $25MRead Morefacility . And one where its $717 total project cost per gross square foot. This design is far to grandiose, too rich. It looks like we shoved our wish list into the project and of course the architects were happy to oblige. I have a very small home and my taxes are already over $5100 annually, adding this with the Prop 2.5 increase we can as a standard course of business I expect taxes will go up by 5%. Show me something, show me anything that says the Town and Schools are trying to address/suppress their appetite for spending then maybe. Dont forget folks we have an unfunded pension liability out there to which will need addressing and you cant tackle that beast from a position of weakness which another round of tax increases will not help. Also, note that complicated Science buildings are built for a total project cost around $700-800 gsf, why is a public safety facility up at that lofty level. Its the wish list mentality in town without a care for the taxpayer. Its time we the taxpayer say No. And that is with all due respect to the Fire Department's current facility.

I've seen coyotes numerous times as well as fox and fischer cat in the area. Small animals andRead Morechild ren are at risk. Since we have so much wooded area that house tons of deer and we don't allow hunting in a good deal of Eastern MA, food supply for coyotes is plentiful with no predators exist, I'm sure we'll continue to see more and more coyotes in the area.
