Updated: National Weather Service Snowfall Advisory Includes Sharon
The area should see 2 to 5 inches Saturday.
The National Weather Service is advising parts of Southern New England, including Sharon, to expect plowable snow Saturday.
The agency has issued a winter weather advisory for accumulating snow from 4 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday. The directive covers Eastern Massachusetts, as well as Rhode Island and Eastern Connecticut, according to its website.
The Sharon area should see 3 to 5 inches of snow Saturday, the agency said. AccuWeather's website predicts Sharon getting about 3.6 inches of snow.
It's the first substantial snowfall here since Jan. 21, when about four inches fell, causing several motor vehicle accidents in town.
Saturday's high temperature will be around 36 degrees, starting a chilly weekend that will see the mercury top out at 25 degrees Sunday, AccuWeather says. Temperatures in the 40s are expected to return Tuesday and through next week.
The National Weather Service reports it may issue a winter weather advisory later today.
