What Does Maroon & Gold Say About Sharon?

Patch consulted a color theorist to find out what the city's colors say about Sharon.

Ever wonder what your favorite color says about you? How about the town's colors?

Sharon has been proudly maroon and gold for years. But what do those colors say about the city?

According to Kate Smith, a color expert with Sensational Color Pro, colors can say a lot about a person, product, or company. Using Smith's pyschology of colors theory, Sharon Patch applies it to the city's choice of colors for the high school, youth sports and, well, just about everything!

Sharon: Maroon and Gold

Gold/Yellow— Yellow is the color of the Solar Plexus Chakra, also known as Manipura, which is considered a representative of vitality and will. When this chakra is open, it acts to empower a person and help them find their personal strength.

Maroon/Red— Red is recognized as a stimulant, and is considered to be inherently exciting; the amount of red is directly related to the level of energy perceived.

The conclusion: According to its colors, the Eagles should be able to bring a strong presence to any opponent, while also attracting attention from the other team as well as the crowd.

What do you think, Sharon? Do the town's colors really show its true colors? Tell us in the comments!

I think the colors were chosen because of the eagles feathers, they are almost maroon and gold.

Eagles
According to USA Today and the Sporcle website, 74 four-year colleges in the United States and 1,223 high schools have the eagle as a mascot. Likely used as a sign of American pride, the eagle represents the bald eagle, which is displayed as the national emblem as a symbol of superior power and authority. This can be very fitting for a school that strives to be on top, and thus it is the most common mascot at American high schools and college
