There are 2 white snow owls at the Trailside Museum. A female whose feathers are more grey than the almost all white male. Owls love airport runways. When the planes take off, mice run across the runway and the owls swoop down to catch them. Many get injured from the backlash of the airplanes.

This weekend, from Saturday, Oct. 6 through Monday, Oct. 8, the Blue Hills Trailside Museum will celebrate autumn with the Fall Festival of 2012.

The fall festival is a popular family event and families from Canton, Sharon, Milton and all over come to this three-day weekend event. You will learn how the local animals who live in the Blue Hills prepare for winter. The children will enjoy story telling along with live animal demonstrations.

Local residents will have the opportunity to make your own apple cider by crushing and pressing the apples. There's even a yard sale with all proceeds to support the museum.

All ages are welcome and no pre-registration is necessary. Admission: $2.00 for members adult and child and $4 for non-members.

Each day will offer a different program from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
