Friday night, volunteers prepared the veterans' gravesites at Sharon's Rock Ridge Cemetery for Sunday's Memorial Day services there.

Fresh flowers and flags were placed at these gravesites during the effort at the East Street cemetery, near Mountain Street.

A number of adults and Sharon scouts participated, directed by Veterans Agent Paul Bergeron.

Sharon's Memorial Day program is Sunday.

Gravesite services at Rock Ridge begin at 1:30 p.m.

A parade will follow, with participants assembling on Bradford Avenue, behind the Sharon Fire Station, at 2:20 p.m.

Participants will march from the Sharon Town Offices to Post Office Square, down Pond Street and back onto East Chestnut.

The participants will include color guards, police, firefighters and scouts, among others, Bergeron said.

A civic ceremony will follow the parade.
