While Norfolk County Agricultural High School in Walpole is strictly for commuters, there are 12 new residents living on campus on Friday.

The school's purebread Yorkshire pig, Kate, gave birth to her first litter of piglets some time between 10 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 6 and 4:30 a.m. on Sept. 7.

Farm Manager Dave Green said that all of the piglets are in good health and that Kate is doing a great job taking care of her 12 newborns.

In the coming days the piglets will be cleaned up, have their ears clipped be given shots.

The Norfolk County Agricultural School serves nearly 500 students from surrounding communities such as Braintree, Brookline, Canton, Dedham, Dover, Foxborough, Medfield, Milton, Needham, Norwood, Sharon, Stoughton, Walpole, Wellesley, Westwood, Weymouth and Wrentham.
