Sun, Selsman Spark Sharon Cross-Country Sweep

Eagles end dual meet season by beating both Foxborough teams.

Both won their final 2011 dual meets Tuesday, the girls winning their first.

Junior captain Caroline Sun and senior Jessica Oknin finished one-two, leading the girls over visiting Foxborough, 28 to 29, according to results provided by Alan Conway, one of Sharon's coaches.

In the boys meet, sophomore Adam Selsman placed second, and Sharon took placed seven runners in the top 10 for a 24 to 36 victory over Foxborough.

The Eagles girls finished the dual meet season 1-4. The boys were 3-2.

Tuesday, Sun finished the 2.8-mile course at Sharon's Deborah Sampson Park in 18:42, Conway said. Oknin was second, in 19:37. Foxborough freshman Kayla Sepe was third, in 20:31. Sharon junior captain Sami Kaplan was fourth, in 20:50.

Four consecutive Foxborough runners followed: junior Hallie Young, in 21:20; senior Jacqueline Bailey, in 21:28; sophomore Sally Philbin, in 22:24; and senior Julie Schoener, in 23:04. Sharon junior Jessica Chabot was ninth, in 23:16. Foxborough junior Victoria Bailey was 10th, in 23:23.

Foxborough senior Brendan Sullivan won the boys meet, in 15:26, Conway said.

Sharon's Selsman was second, in 15:40.

Foxborough junior Kevin Aldrich was right behind Selsman, in 15:41.

Sharon then dominated the rest of the top 10: senior captain Dan Scribner, in 15:56; senior Michael Dupuis, in 15:58; sophomore Brendan Lee, in 16:08; senior captain Ben Ryter, in 16:14; and junior Steven Kessler, in 16:17.

Foxborough sophomore Dean Mazzola was ninth, in 16:22. And Sharon junior Sullivan Gassmann was 10th, in 16:24.
