Sun, Oknin Finish 1-2 Vs. Warriors
Sharon edges Foxborough, loses to Mansfield, on Friday.
Junior captain Caroline Sun and senior Jessica Oknin finished first and second, respectively, as the Sharon High School girls cross-country team defeated Foxborough, 22 to 33, at Sharon's Deborah Sampson Park on Friday.
Mansfield defeated Sharon, 28 to 31, and Foxborough, 19 to 45, at the same meet, according to results provided by Alan Conway, one of Sharon's coaches.
Sun finished the 2.8-mile course in 17:54, followed by Oknin in 18:58.
Mansfield freshman Emily Sarkisian was third, in 19:05. Foxborough senior Kayla Sepe was fourth, in 19:53. Mansfield senior Sarah Miller was fifth, in 20:07. Sharon junior captain Samantha Kaplan was sixth, in 20:15.
Mansfield then finished the top 10 with four consecutive runners: senior Laura Burnham, in 20:28; junior Abbey Wright, in 20:32; junior Rachel Frazer, in 20:40; and senior Laura Caeran, in 20:46.
The Hockomock League Championships are Saturday at Borderland State Park in Easton.
