Smoke Damages Sharon Home
Firefighters extinguish smoldering fire in North Main Street basement Friday.
Sharon firefighters extinguished a smoldering fire in a North Main Street basement this afternoon.
The fire department received a call at 12:54 p.m. of smoke in the house at 380 North Main St., Fire Capt. Bert Cummings said tonight.
A woman had returned home to find "smoke in the house and the smoke detectors going off," he said.
There was some smoke damage throughout the house, Cummings said.
The incident's cause is unknown, he said.
Sharon and Canton firefighters responded to the house, he said. Foxborough firefighters covered the Sharon fire station.
Sharon Police directed traffic near the scene during the incident. Sharon firefighters were there for about 50 minutes, Cummings said.
