SHS Gymnasts Head to Saturday's Hocks Perfect -- Again

The league championships will be held at Arnold's in Mansfield.

The Sharon High School gymnastics team heads into Saturday's Hockomock League Championship meet after finishing its regular season perfect -- for the second straight year.

The Eagles are 7-0 after defeating visiting Attleboro, 141.35 to 129.25, at the Academy of Gymnastics in Stoughton on Tuesday night.

Sharon is undefeated for the second straight season, Athletic Director Robert Sondheim said today. The Eagles were 8-0 in 2011.

Junior Samantha Kaplan "entered into the state 9.5 club again on bars," co-coach Jamie Whiting said. "(And sophomores) Johanna El-Khoury and Erin Moore had a season highs on balance beam."

Sharon honored its four seniors -- tri-captains Cori Plesko, Sara Spelfogel and Melissa Steinberg, and Brian Lee -- during its senior day celebration, Whiting said.

The Hockomock League Championships are at 6 p.m. Saturday at Arnold's Gymnastics Academy in Mansfield.
