Sharon ZBA Continues Tower Hearing at AT&T's Request
The hearing resumes on March 14.
The Sharon Zoning Board of Appeals now won't rule on AT&T's proposed wireless communications tower until at least March.
AT&T requested a continuance of Wednesday night's public hearing until March 14, acting Chairman Kevin McCarville said today.
"They did not provide their rationale for their request," McCarville said.
AT&T eyes building a 120-foot-tall monopole telecommunications tower at two sites on town-owned land at Sharon's 411 East Foxboro St. AT&T also has applied for approval at 68 Mohawk St., its preferred site.
McCarville had anticipated the ZBA voting on the matter Jan. 11.
However, that night, the board continued the hearing until Jan. 25 so that town counsel could review a letter from attorney Christopher Heep, representing a group of abutters.
Sharon town meeting voters have not re-zoned that town property for such a use or authorized selectmen to lease the site to AT&T, Heep said in his Jan. 10 letter.
