Sharon Voters Elect New Planning Board Member, Two to School Board

The candidates were unopposed at Sharon's annual town election.

 

Sharon voters elected two new Sharon School Committee members and a new planning board member Tuesday.

Veronica Wiseman and Kathleen Currul-Dykeman were unopposed at Sharon's annual town election for three-year terms on the school board. Robert Maidman was unopposed for a five-year term on the planning board.

Incumbent school committee members Glenn Allen and Mitch Blaustein, and planning board member Susan Price, did not seek re-election.

According to unofficial results Tuesday night, Wiseman received 824 votes, Currul-Dykeman 721 votes and Maidman 893 votes.

There were 1,567 votes cast for school committee, and 906 votes for planning board.

Richard Gorden was elected unopposed to a fourth three-year term on the board of assessors. Gorden received 898 of the 906 votes cast for assessor, according to unofficial results.

The election drew 1,245 voters, or 10.07 percent, of Sharon's registered voters to the Sharon High School polls.
