Sharon - the positive
great school system - consistent top ten in MA
great location and relatively safe crime free town..
The negative
High taxes
Town Meeting form of government - a true Oligarchy in action that has to be abolished
no industrial base - because
35% of the land is conservation land and town cannot have a higher commercial rate as all other towns do because what little commercial business we have will move out.
No place to build a new public safety headquarters - town owns very little useable land - all of it has been transferred to conservation
Sacred Heart site now being considered for new fire station - actually great location but will never happen
Bottom line - has resulted in a trend of becoming a community of 12 and out....(once all of the kids are out of high school you move out of town) - just check the real estate transactions on a weekly basis...

The residential tax rate is outrageous and will drive people out of this town. Please allow some businesses to be built and offeset the crazy tax rates. This level of taxation is not sustainable. Sharon does not offer enough services to justify such high tax rates to the residents, even if the schools are so great.
