Sharon Police Log: Rowdy Guests, Winter Swimming and Dog on the Ice

The following information was provided by the Sharon Police Department daily log. Where arrest was made, it does not indicate a conviction.

 

Sunday, Jan. 13

8:06 p.m. - Sharon Police received reports of a dog attacking its owner on Winslow Road.

8:58 p.m. - A Massachusetts pickup truck went into a pole on Tiot Street, according to reports. The motorist was arrested for operating under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

10:50 p.m. - Police received a report of rowdy guests at the Best Western on Old Post Road and Rte. 1.

Monday, Jan. 14

5:07 a.m. - A report of hazardous conditions on Bluff Head Road and Walpole Street when a large branch was laying across the roadway.

11:56 a.m. - A report of a loose dog running across Rte. 1 and Old Post Road.

3:47 p.m. - A report of suspicious activity when a brick was thrown at a mailbox on Azalea Road.

Tuesday, Jan. 15

6:35 a.m. - A multiple motor vehicle accident was reported with property damage in the area of Rte. 1 Rte. I-95 near Exit 9.

Wednesday, Jan. 16

7:53 a.m. - A Massachusetts motorist needed assistance on Tiot Street and Edge Hill Road after driving off the road.

7:56 a.m. - Another vehicle reportedly drove into a ditch on Saw Mill and Canton Street. 

8:53 a.m. - A two-car motor vehicle accident was reported with property damage on Wolomolopoag.

11:07 a.m. - Police received a report of a dog struggling on the ice on North Main Street.

11:17 a.m. - A report of hazardous conditions when a man hole cover was missing on Rte. 1.

12:41 p.m. - A Massachusetts motorist was given a citation for driving driving with revoked insurance on Station Street and South Main Street.

Thursday, Jan. 17

3:33 p.m. - A report of credit card theft on South Main Street.

4:19 p.m. - A report of credit card number being compromised on Wadsworth Way.

10:58 p.m. - A speeding citation was given to a Massachusetts motorist on Cedrus Road and High Plain Street.

Friday, Jan. 18

6:21 a.m. - Report of hazardous conditions on Wolomolopoag Street when a large boulder was sitting in the middle of the roadway.

3:43 p.m. - Police received a report of people swimming in Lake Massapoag.

Saturday, Jan. 19

9:24 a.m. - A report of hazardous conditions when a large banner was hanging in the roadway on Post Office Square and South Main Street.

1:12 p.m. - A Massachusetts motorist was given a citation for erratic driving on Massapoag Ave.
