Sharon Players Honored: Eagles Out of Final Rankings

The Eagles were left out of the Boston Herald and ESPN-Boston final football polls, despite winning the Super Bowl.

The Sharon High football team might have won the Division 3 Super Bowl title and the Hockomock League's Davenport Division, but the Eagles didn't crack the Boston Herald's Sweet-16 or the ESPN-Boston's final 25.

Two Sharon players, Sean Asnes and Tobenna Modebelu, were honored as stars of the week by the Boston Herald.

Asnes scored a touchdown in the Eagles' 12-3 win over Wayland in the Division 3 Super Bowl Saturday, while carrying the ball 17 times for 123-yards.

Modebelu recovered a fumble that lead to Asnes' game-winning four-yard touchdown run in the Eagles' 7-6 win over Pembroke in the playoffs.

Read about the Eagles' Super Bowl win in the Boston Globe and the Boston Herald.

Pretty Sad that a team that goes from worst to first in 3 years isn't recognized....however....all I can say is "Dave Morse for Coach Of The Year!!!"
