The Sharon High School gymnastics team was honored as the Hockomock League's defending Davenport Division champions Saturday night, and then recorded more top performances.
The Eagles saw junior Samantha Kaplan repeat as league champion in the all-around with a score of 37.9, co-coach Jamie Whiting said. Kaplan won all four events: vault (9.5), bars (9.5), beam (9.5) and floor (9.4).
Sharon also got first-place finishes from junior Alicia Dagle (beam) and senior tri-captain Melissa Steinberg (floor). Senior Brian Le finished second in the vault. Sophomore Chelsea Noller finished tied for second in floor. Dagle and sophomore Marielle Fisher placed fourth in bars and beam, respectively. And junior Jessica Chabot placed fifth in the all-around.
The Eagles (7-0) received their division championship plaque during opening ceremonies at the meet, held at Arnold's Gymnastics Academy in Mansfield.
"All of the athletes have come so far since the beginning of the season and made such great improvements," Whiting said.
The Eagles next will compete in the Sectionals, on Feb. 25 at Hudson High School.
