The Sharon High School boys tennis team's route to return to the state Division 2 final starts at home Saturday.
After being seeded first, the Eagles will host a 2012 Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association Boys Team Tennis South Division 2 first round match at 3 p.m., according to the tournament website. Sharon will play the winner of Friday's Sandwich-Walpole preliminary round match, being played at Walpole. Sharon received a preliminary round bye.
Saturday's winner advances to the South Division 2 quarterfinals against the winner of Friday's Bishop Feehan-Falmouth first round match, being played at Falmouth, according to the bracket.
Sharon (16-0) is seeded first in the 18-team bracket. Walpole (9-8) is seeded 16th and Sandwich (9-9) is 17th.
The Eagles reached the state Division 2 championship match last year, losing to North champion Winchester, 5-0, at Lexington High School.
Much of that Sharon team returned this season, including first singles Vivek Nangia, third singles Aditya Puttigampala and the first doubles team of Eric Bloom and Jake Steinberg.
